Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet: la roadmap passo a passo con tutte le novità.

Ubuntu 15.04 “Vivid Vervet” alpha 1: 

Jonathan Riddell has announced the availability of the initial development release of "Vivid Vervet", a family of Ubuntu distribution that will eventually bear the version number 15.04. This first alpha build is available for Kubuntu (now with Plasma 5 as the default KDE), Lubuntu, Ubuntu GNOME and Ubuntu Kylin. From the release announcement: "The first alpha of Vivid Vervet (to become 15.04) has now been released. This alpha features images for Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu GNOME, Ubuntu Kylin and Ubuntu Cloud. Kubuntu uses KDE software and now features the new Plasma 5 desktop. Plasma 5, the next generation of KDE Software is still a work in progress, but is stable enough for everyday use and it keeps getting better as new versions drop frequently." Ubuntu 15.04 “Vivid Vervet” alpha 2:

 

 
Walter Lapchynski has announced the arrival of the second alpha build of the upcoming Ubuntu 15.04, with live testing images available for Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu GNOME and Ubuntu Kylin: "Alpha 2 includes a number of software updates that are ready for wider testing. This is quite an early set of images, so you should expect some bugs. While these Alpha 2 images have been tested and work, except as noted in the release notes, Ubuntu developers are continuing to improve the Vivid Vervet. In particular, once newer daily images are available, system installation bugs identified in the Alpha 2 installer should be verified against the current daily image before being reported in Launchpad. Using an obsolete image to re-report bugs that have already been fixed wastes your time and the time of developers who are busy trying to make 15.04 the best Ubuntu release yet." Novità:

• Il ciclo di sviluppo della versione standard della distribuzione non prevede invece alpha release. Dunque tutte le versioni dedicate ai vari desktop environment hanno aggiornato i loro file ISO dedicati ai tester.
• Il team di Kubuntu 15.04 sta continuando a rifinire Plasma 5, smussando gli angoli di KDE per renderlo più completo e uniforme.
• Lavori simili anche per il team di Lubuntu 15.04 che sta preparando la versione con LXQt, mentre per quanto riguarda LXDE sono stati introdotti solo dei semplici bugfix.
• Novità interessanti per Ubuntu GNOME 15.04, infatti in questa seconda alpha è arrivato GNOME Shell 3.14.3 che porta con se tutte le applicazioni di GNOME aggiornate all’ultima versione, elemento che sarà sicuramente molto gradito nella versione stabile della derivata, visto che fino alla scorsa major release il team di Ubuntu ha usato un mix tra GNOME 3.10 e 3.12.
