SoundConvert per convertire i file audio dai formati letti con GStreamer

Una delle grandi limitazioni che impone la licenza GPL alle distribuzioni Linux è la possibilità di preinstallare codec multimediali e tutto quello che è proprietario.

Quindi non essendoci codec audo/video già installati se non quelli open source non è presente nemmeno un convertitore per questi file.

Questo non vuol dire che questi programmi non esistono, tutt’altro esistono e come.

Sound Converter come si può ben capire dal titolo può convertire i seguenti tipi di file audio WAV, FLAC, MP3, AAC, Ogg e viceversa.

Il download è disponibile per tutte le distro sotto forma di archivio .tar.gz dal siro ufficiale mentre per chi utilizza Ubuntu è possibile installarlo con questo semplice comando:

vux è un'utilità a riga di comando per ogg e mp3 che riproduce le canzoni in base a un sistema di punteggi progettato per tenere traccia delle abitudini d'ascolto di un utente. In modo predefinito, vux assegnerà a ciascuna canzone una percentuale di probabilità di essere riprodotta, in base alla sua posizione nella curva a campana che rappresenta tutti i punteggi. Le canzoni sono scelte in modo casuale, poi riprodotte se superano la percentuale. I punteggi aumentano quando la canzone viene ascoltata per intero e diminuiscono quando si salta alla successiva. L'elenco dei punteggi è in formato testuale per poter fare modifiche manuali. In modo predefinito, viene mantenuta un elenco separato di date per prevenire ripetizioni in base al tempo in cui una canzone è stata riprodotta l'ultima volta.
